After knowing the great experience in Toronto at Wildfire we are so glad that Oshawa has opened this upscale steakhouse. There is no other place to go for a 1st class meal in Durham and we recently celebrated my fathers 90th in their party room. Even if you are not into sushi, it is worth a trip to Kakemono! My boyfriend LOVES sushi and although I don't mind it, it is not my favourite meal in the world. However, I love Teriyaki and the Teriyaki dishes on Kakemono's all you can eat menu are wonderful. The prices are reasonable when compared to the price you may for most all-you-can-eat places and the food was great. We will be going back in the near future! Read more

Went for my sons birthday, there was 7 of us - luckily they were able to seat us pretty fast (15 minutes) considering we had no reservation on a saturday night. Got the big momma, SO GOOD! food came surprisingly fast, my husband and I ordered the all you can eat ribs, our waitress refilled our ribs before we were even finished so they came out at the same time as we finished, all of our meals were delicious and then they 'birthday train' came and my son LOVED IT, the horns, the song, everything! Went to DC with the child for open house and decided to look for lunch on the way to 401. We passed it and turned back as we didn't want fast food. It's a tiny place with 2 tables and 4 rickety chairs but we are happy we stopped there. The girl (owner's daughter it turns out) behind the counter was sweet and efficient. She made us 4 samosas & 4 shawarmas that were delicious and filling. The owner provided 2 free bottles of water for our 1st time there as well as a orange drink for the two guys ahead of us, also their 1st time. Friendly, fun and good food too. We put the tables together and had an excellent lunch. There's just no elegant way to eat shawarmas so you need lots of napkins. Wouldn't want to eat there in the winter as it probably gets quite cold in there. Read more

If you are looking for a spot to hang with your friends and watch the game then you definitely need to hit up Whitby St.Louis. They pride themselves on their staff as well as ensuring that any major game that is playing is on every TV. This means hockey, baseball, football, UFC, golf- you name it they have it. Oh and the wings, fries and garlic dip is delicious. My personal favorite is the Hot n Honey wing sauce or the Suicide wing sauce. I would suggest going on Tuesday for wing night, or on Thurs or Fri which is their busiest nights. They have a huge regular following from 3pm to 5:30pm so if you are looking for some company at the bar, this is the time to go! Read more
